Hello!

Just short and sweet this week!

Please remember next week on Thursday the 16th of September, that we have a whole school mass remembering St Vincent de Paul and all the amazing work he did in looking after the poor. This Mass will be lead by Miss Honner and the Year 1/2 class. You are all welcome to attend, with mask wearing and QR check-in required.

Principal's Report

09 September 2021

Hi all,

We have had a busy couple of weeks with Transition days for our Year 7’s transitioning to High School, some staff absences, SAPSASA Soccer for one of our students and Peter Combe concert for our Junior Primary. We were extremely proud of Rhegan Towers' efforts in representing St Coumba's in SAPSASA Soccer and it was fantastic that his classmates were able to tune in and cheer him on virtually.

We are also deep into the process for the Whole School Musical as well as the preparations for our Festival Choir.

Today is RU OK Day.

I spoke to the students this morning. We asked the question of all the staff and students.

‘Who has a family member, or a family friend in Victoria or NSW?’

One of my closest mates moved to Melbourne four years ago. Like everybody in Melbourne he hasn’t had it easy over the past 18 months with his casual work being compromised, and most of his family being out of reach.

Tonight will be a quick Zoom chat, maybe a quiet beverage and catching up on what’s going on.

Reach out to someone you know whether it be today, tomorrow or over the weekend. You never know when you’ll catch someone in the right mode for a chat.

Musical Production

We are excited to announce the dates for our Whole School Production.

Our Production Aladdin Musical will be held on the 28th of October.

There will be two official performances a 12:00pm matinee and a 7:00pm evening performance.

The concert will be held at the Light Church Performing Arts Space in Edithburgh.

If you haven’t already you will receive a note asking for your support with your child’s costume. The school has provided most of the elaborate pieces, but you may need to help your child with a base for their costume.

COVID-19 Update

At present there have been significant changes to restrictions surrounding education. As you would be aware the situation can change quickly, as we are witnessing interstate and overseas.

Our parent community have been incredibly understanding throughout the current restrictions in limiting parents on our site.

Thank you.

In saying that, if you need to come in please feel free to come in and speak to who you need to.

Kind Regards,
Scott
