In the Middle Primary Class, we have been talking about the importance of being kind to one another. The students discussed the importance of making others feeling valued and how other people's kind actions impact them. As Mary Mackillop once famously said, 'find happiness in making others happy'.
This week, one of the 3/4 students decided that they would like to make every student in the class a special origami cube. This selfless act of kindness for one student brought so much joy and happiness to his fellow peers. Although it took this student hours to make these gifts for everyone, he positively reflected on his actions and had a smile from ear to ear when giving them out. In his exact words, 'this is a box full of little boxes of joy.'
Since this student has done this, other members of the class have started sharing ways of how they can show kindness and be selfless. Amongst all the busy classroom learning and curriculum, it is important to recognise how much each student has to offer and how they act as such big influencers in each other's lives. Being kind costs us nothing yet is so valued all over the world.
